Third Chapter of The Starlit Oasis is Live!!!
Hello!
The day is finally here; the third chapter of “The Starlit Oasis” has arrived! This one is by far the longest update yet. It increased the total render count of the game by 50%! I can’t wait to hear what you guys think when you get your hands on it.
So in my last announcement, I mentioned that this update was probably going to take longer than 3 months to complete. Despite the most recent release being on November 17, I was already working on this chapter at the end of October. So realistically, it took me about 4 months to finish. Unfortunately, this also means that it ate up that 1-month time cushion I built in for myself, so the next update is likely to actually take longer than three months, haha!
Speaking of the next update, I am toying the idea of extending the story to a sixth chapter depending on how things go with chapter five. Honestly, what I’ll probably do is finish the script for the rest of the story, and if I decide its length merits chopping up into two parts, I’ll make that decision then. The full release date is still tentatively Q3/Q4 of 2026, but that may be adjusted depending on how I decide to handle the last parts of the story.
On another note, the end of January marked the one-year anniversary of me starting on this project! I started from nothing. No Steam developer account, no experience with Ren’Py, and no experience with Daz Studio. Over the course of six months, I wrote the story, collected the assets and pushed out the first update. Now about seven months later, I will have created roughly five times as much content!
Thank you all for following me on this journey, and I look forward to giving you the next chapter of “The Starlit Oasis!”
