Steam Launch & Beyond!
Hello everyone! 👽
It's been an amazing Steam launch and we've had an enormous amount of feedback!
I’m currently wrapping up the first patch which will focus on the most common suggestions, QOL features and bug fixes, ensuring every Captain has the smoothest journey possible.
Current Focus: Polishing the Experience
I’ve been closely monitoring Discord and Steam discussions to prioritize the updates that matter most.
Coming in the Next Update: These features are currently in the final testing phase and will be live as soon as they clear QA!
Desktop QoL Overhaul: We’ve welcomed a ton of new Desktop players so I’m adding a brand-new Settings Menu featuring:
Custom Resolutions, Screen Mode, V-Sync, and Frame Rate lock.
Mouse Sensitivity sliders.
New Control: Hold the middle mouse button in Sandbox mode to pan the camera with ease.

Enhanced VR Onboarding: Helping new Captains get into the action faster!
A new Tutorial Computer in the title screen to help onboard new players.
New Video Tutorials for essential mechanics like the wrist computer and camera repositioning.

Gameplay Refinements:
Galaxy map controls are now more natural and intuitive.
Dual-Shoulder Ammo: You can now grab ammo over either shoulder for better combat flow.
Visual Clarity:
Updated the help screen with an easier to read layout.
Bug fixes:
Fixed Steam VR action manifest path. Hand pose tracking for Oculus touch, and Valve Index finger tracking is now working properly.
Novas green energy particle was not always functioning correctly.
Improved Hinakos chair collision accuracy.
On the Horizon: (The Very Next Patch) Once the above is live, I’m jumping straight into:
Desktop Key Rebinding for control customization.
More Save Checkpoints for smoother progression.
Smart Popup Hints to guide you through core mechanics like reloading.
More bug fixes!
The Future: Once these patches are released I'll begin working on the really fun stuff!
New sandbox environments.
Additional clothing and hair styles for Male and Female characters.
New toys and gadgets for the sandbox.
New props to construct your scenes.
Suggestions, Optimisations and further QOL improvements.
And much more!
Soon after the first content drop, development will begin on the next chapter of the campaign:
Improvements to gameplay systems and mechanics.
New Mission Content: Development of the next story mission and objectives.
The Arsenal: Development of new weapons.
New Threats: Designing new enemy types and AI behaviours.
Let me know in the comments which features and improvements you want to see the most ✨
There's a lot more planned for Captain Hardcore, and I’m excited to keep pushing forward in Early Access. Thank you for being part of the journey! 👽👽👽
