Let me be honest about what’s going on.

08/08/2025 · Release · Glow of Snowy Night

Hello everyone,

I spent half a year developing this game, and a few months updating it.

People kept asking for more content — which is understandable, it’s human nature.

But I’m sorry, I’ve been living on bean sprouts I grow myself, and now I might not even have money to buy more mung beans.

Now let’s talk about this game’s sales:

Some piracy sites spread my game widely right after release.

In the first week, it had a 30% refund rate — it hit hard.

Piracy site stats show over 30,000 downloads.

Meanwhile, I sold fewer than 500 copies.

Don’t think piracy helps with exposure — it absolutely doesn’t.

I spent almost a month sending DMCA takedowns, and that seriously slowed down my development.

Even so, I finished the updates as planned.

It brought no exposure.

Sales didn’t improve.

I can keep improving as a developer,

but right now, I can’t survive.

Collective Shout is awful,

but piracy sites hurt creators just as much.

Their actions made piracy the main distribution channel.

I haven’t seen anyone go after the pirates.

It feels like no one actually cares whether creators live or die.

Plenty of people used this chance to refund.

Steam gets praised a lot,

but what I feel is an unfair refund system.

And that’s not all — PayPal froze all my funds and allowed all previous sales made through them to be refunded. Their methods are brutal. I didn’t know PayPal would do this. I just saw everyone using it and thought it would be fine. But after looking into it, I found that many others had their accounts frozen too. Seems like PayPal actively checks what you're selling. People only seem to go after credit card companies. What PayPal's doing doesn’t get talked about much.

A certain platform first hid all NSFW games, then later made them visible again. Players thought they’d won the war, but in reality, have those creators’ PayPal wallets already been frozen? I’m not sure — but mine was.

I’m not an animator, and I don’t have a professional background in programming — all my skills are self-taught over the past two years.

I know some people judge games by playtime.

But this isn’t a time-killer.

Please don’t judge a work like this.

I’m a full-time developer.

These sales aren’t enough to survive.

All the weird refund reasons are discouraging.

It’s not a transaction — it’s just draining me and affecting my mental health.

If nothing changes, continuing development will only lead to my death.

Here’s my main meal now: bean sprouts I grow myself.

I didn’t get it until now. Freedom? It never existed.

I can feel a group of women reveling in this victory. Now all they have to do is hide, and they’ll be fine. To build their joy on someone else’s suffering — there is no greater evil in human nature.

It might feel a bit heavy.

I just don’t want to pretend everything’s fine and fake development progress.

I don’t want to keep living this kind of constant financial struggle.

I’m going to switch to a new brand and work on safer topics.

Thank you so much to those who gave me positive feedback during this time.

When there were no comments in the review section, the only messages I received were harsh ones.

It’s because of your support that I was able to finish this update.
