Futariuum’s Gate – Weekly Devlog #3

This week was a big one for us — a lot got done across different parts of the game! Nethuum started working on a brand-new background that’ll act as a “safe hub” for Maya and her group. It’s going to be an important spot in the story (no spoilers yet 👀). He went from planning to sketching really quickly, and the full line art is already done — ready for coloring soon!

AB put in some major work too, completely redoing both the dungeon selection and exploration screens. They now properly show Maya’s HP, energy, money, and reputation. AB also finished linking the new dungeon system with the enemies, so everything works perfectly together now. The new dungeon selection screen is also done — you can check it out in the image attached!

Our writer made great progress as well after a quick sync with Nethuum to set priorities. She wrapped up Brianna’s entire introduction story, the Safe Hub scenes, and how the group gets there. That means the whole “intro” sequence before the world opens up is now complete! Players will be able to experience that linear introduction first or skip it and jump straight into free exploration. For those who prefer to skip it, we’re adding a short optional recap so you can still get the main story beats. The writer also finished that recap script, plus new prompt messages for the upcoming mechanics.

Next, Nethuum will keep working on new mechanics, assets, and the remaining backgrounds — possibly starting sketches for Brianna’s next scene depending on what’s needed. AB will continue refining the dungeon system and integrating all events. Meanwhile, the writer’s started revisiting older scenes, especially from the early game, to polish and improve them.
