Development Update

05/08/2025 · Release · Personal Study

Time for a long-overdue update on what I’ve been working on since the last patch.

Right now, I’m focused on finishing the "second part" of the game (which should conclude with the ritual with the succubus). This requires a good number of new cutscenes and assets. There won’t be much gameplay in the next patch —it will be more about story development and narrative content.

Here are the changes so far:

  • Herbs have finally made it into the game — the ones mentioned in the quest. You won’t need to collect them like you did with the stones; Evi will find them herself when the corresponding cutscenes are triggered.

  • I’ve reworked the Mimic's model for Evi’s second encounter with it. The overall design is mostly the same, but I needed a more flexible model and a rig that’s easier to work with. For now, these changes won’t affect the first scene, but I plan to eventually remake it using the new model.

  • I’ve also made a couple of animations for the new encounter with the Mimic.

  • Since the ritual preparation involves alchemy, I designed a mini-puzzle themed around it. Its concept is fairly abstract — you won’t be pouring liquids into test tubes or anything like that, but it still ties into the idea of alchemy.

There’s still quite a bit of work ahead, and unfortunately, I won’t be able to release this in smaller chunks — for a story-focused update like this, I’d like to keep everything cohesive.
