An Offering Awaits (Dev Diary)

Greetings sinners!

We’ve been deep in refinement mode since the last update. Tightening systems, expanding player agency, and sharpening the experience into something more reactive, and far more satisfying.

Some of these changes are subtle. Others reshape how entire paths conclude. All of them bring Hell’s Bells closer to its final form.

The Reliquary

A new system has been introduced where Sisters may bestow you with special items as offerings. These are not handed out lightly. Each one reflects devotion, obedience, or something more dangerous depending on how you play.

Some are symbolic. Some are powerful. All of them matter.

Repentance System Refinement

The Repent mechanic has been fully reworked and polished to feel like a true conclusion to a path rather than a simple endpoint.

Your choices now carry clearer weight, and repentance itself feels more deliberate, more final, and more meaningful within the narrative.

Self Love Minigame

A new interactive minigame has been added, tied directly to the repentance system.

It serves as both a mechanical and thematic release, reinforcing character state, player agency, and the consequences of desire. You’ll understand when you reach it.

More Multiple Choice QTEs

We’ve expanded the number of choice driven moments throughout scenes, giving players more agency in how encounters unfold. These moments are faster, more reactive, and designed to make each playthrough feel less scripted and more personal.

Demo Approaching

We’re closing in on a public demo release!

The initial version will be available primarily through itch as a browser build, with the possibility of a downloadable Steam version shortly after. This demo will give you a solid taste of the tone, mechanics, and direction of the full game.

More importantly, it will give you the opportunity to provide feedback early to make sure we do the right thing for the full version!

We still don’t have a final release date just yet, but everything is moving toward a version of Hell’s Bells that you will all be thankful for.

Every system now feeds into something greater, and we’re incredibly excited for you to experience what’s coming.
