Very well designed game with good atmosphere, music & character designs. The game does suffer though from walls of text in the notes that you read and would be much better told by in game cut scenes in my opinion. The game also does have some disturbing scenes so you have been warned lol but I would recommend this to anyone looking for a good horror game h…

INES nails the creepy 90s VHS vibe. The story is dark, disturbing, and absolutely worth experiencing. The atmosphere is excellent. When it leans into psychological horror and exploration, it’s fantastic. But then… Outlast Syndrome kicks in. Every indie horror since 2013 seems to think we need an unkillable monster/killer that sprints at you at a million mp…

About this game

About This Game

IN THIS DARK AND EMOTIONAL GAME

The plot begins after a depressed player, left by his wife and taking the children with her, finds something intriguing that leads him on a journey of exploring the game. The story takes place during the 90s and uses recognizable retro VHS effects and sounds to create an atmosphere of nostalgia and tension. While exploring the unknown, the player finds various textual documents that reveal many things and dark secrets about the rituals and the secret society.

DISCOVERING THE TERRIFYING EVENTS AND RITUALS THAT WERE PERFORMED

The player gets to know Ines's story of what happened to her in the past. One of the key elements of the game is the search for the peacock feather, which is necessary for the player to gain access to Ines' past. When the player finds a peacock feather, he enters the past, but in a specific way - not only observing the events, but feeling them on his body. This means that the player experiences the physical pain, sadness and emotions that Ines experienced at that moment. This unique mechanism enables a deeper immersion in the story, because the player literally feels the burden of the past, while at the same time the victim's memory is erased.

THE GAME FEATURES LOGIC PUZZLES THAT REQUIRE CAREFUL EXPLORATION OF THE ENVIRONMENT AND DOCUMENTS

And each word can be the key to progress and solve the puzzles. The combination of atmosphere, story and puzzles provides a deep and layered experience, where every decision and revelation brings a sense of tension and suspense. In addition, the game has a Save/Load and Inventory system, which allows the player to keep track of all the important information he finds during the game. This adds to the strategic aspect of the game, as the player must carefully manage their resources in order to solve puzzles and progress through the story.

THE OVERALL ATMOSPHERE OF THE GAME, COMBINED WITH EMOTIONALLY POWERFUL THEMES

Retro VHS style and carefully crafted puzzles, creates an experience that is both deeply psychological and horror. It draws the player into a world full of dark secrets, emotional turmoil and tense moments. As the player progresses through the story, they not only face external dangers and mysteries, but are forced to come to grips with the internal struggles, traumas, and emotional dilemmas that lie in Ines's past. This complex combination of psychological elements, horror and personal stories creates a deep immersion in the game world, providing players with an unforgettable and emotionally challenging experience that forces them to question the limits of reality and their own emotions as they explore the ever-deepening secrets of a hidden society and the past.
